Clarice Willow is a High Priestess of Athena and headmistress of the Athena Academy, the school attended by Zoe Graystone, Lacy Rand and Ben Stark. Despite her position in the Caprican religious hierarchy, she is, in fact, Sagittaron-born and harbors a dark secret when it comes to her spiritual beliefs. Given her close relationship with several of her most influential students and her devious and duplicitous nature, she’s sure to have a significant role to play in the future of colonial life on Caprica.
Born in Warrington, Cheshire, England, Walker began her career as a dancer, but at 18 turned her attention to acting, eventually moving from the Drama Centre in London to the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Walker’s acting credits include a variety of noteworthy television appearances. She has appeared in the HBO’s hit series Rome and her portrayal of the villainous “Atia of the Julii” garnered her a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series at the 2006 Golden Globe Awards, as well as a Saturn Award nomination.
Walker’s other television credits include the BBC’s Waking The Dead and the television movies Lorna Doone in which she portrayed the main character, A Dangerous Man: Lawrence Of Arabia with Ralph Fiennes, and Jeffrey Archer: The Truth opposite Damien Lewis. She turned heads again in the hugely acclaimed 2003 BBC miniseries State of Play, opposite Bill Nighy and David Morrissey, which will be adapted into a feature film by Universal Pictures. Most recently Walker starred on CBS’s Cane opposite Jimmy Smits and Hector Elizondo.
On film, Walker first garnered international attention as a single-minded English member of an Irish terrorist group in Phillip Noyce’s Patriot Games opposite Harrison Ford. She has also impressed audiences in Peter Greenaway’s 8 1/2 Women, Michael Hoffman’s Restoration with Robert Downey Jr. and Sam Neill, and Mike Newell’s Enchanted April.
